Do you vote? No need to discuss for whom in this thread.

Yes, I do vote and did vote today. It is our right. Many men and women have died to preserve our rights. I believe it is my duty to honor them by voting.
Does it do any good? Well, that's anyones guess. Some say yes and some say no. I believe when people don't vote, politicians see it as not caring. And the politicians does as he/she pleases. I believe most incumbents don't want a large turnout as that increases their chances of staying in power.
As it has been said by many: Just like dirty diapers,we need to change politicians often and for the same reasons.

No, I simply no longer choose to be part of the process.

yeah, i vote all the time.
if you want to moan do something about it,although the choices are getting more restricted. over here the main parties are more or less the same.
it's getting harder to relate to any of the political parties now.

if you want to moan do something about it,... Voting implies that the voter is participating in the process and will accept the outcome. It is the non-voter who can rightfully reject the outcome.

I think that it really doesen,t matter who gets elected..Those who hold the REAL power are beyond the electoral process and will remain in power no matter who gets elected.By giving the people the illusion that they have a choice they will participate in a meaningless election and feel good about their right to vote....In reality this is just "window dressing" for democracy...Truth be known we live in a plutocracy, a government in name only, merely a corporate entity which is firmly entrenched in and controls all aspects of our lives......The non voter realizes this truth and doesen,t buy into the lie that we have a choice..By not voting he refuses to participate in an election which in reality offers him no choice...The non voter can reject the outcome because he refuses to be taken in by the myth that the two parties offer him a different choice..The choice has been made long ago by the plutocracy which always has the last say...not the people, never the people..

It is now 3pm sunday. I want to do a straight reply and a drunk reply. To simulate the " in wine there is truth" theory. This is my drunk reply to above....Maybe we vote because it gives us a bit of hope...Like when we were kids and believed in the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy...I am torn between being politically active (going to the vigil every Saturday) and the desire to escape from this fucking world and just observe it as if I were watching any other horror movie....I need a religion I think that teaches non attachment..I would like to reach a state of total relaxation and peace....whatever it takes, this is my aim...Some people are injurious to your health.Stay away from them..Only associate with those whose company you enjoy
cobh out.
